The women on your website all look like models. I am not a model..can I still do this?
I only work with everyday (but not ordinary) women. All pictures on this website are showing are real clients. And guess what? Even models often don't look like models in real life. They have cellulite, stretch marks and acne just like every other human being. Having confidence and believing in yourself is what makes awesome images. The Boudoir Photography Melbourne sessions are all about feeling empowered, having fun, getting dolled up, dressed up and letting your hair down and forgetting all about insecurities. Treating yourself to new lingerie and beauty treatments before the session is a definite excitement and confidence builder!
I don't know how to pose. Will you guide me during our session?
Please don't worry. I understand posing women and understanding their needs. So you can be sure that you always will be posed in the most flattering way and under the most flattering lighting. During the session, you will be given very simple and short directions on how to pose such as "bring your chin forward and down" and "look up at me with just your eyes" "put your right hand on your right thigh" etc. I will also demonstrate each pose myself and if you allow - I will help to put your hands in the right position, fix your hair etc.
How far in advance should I book my session?
I recommend that women have their shoot date scheduled for about 2 months before they need the finished product in-hand. Also, being a one-woman business, I tend to book up very quickly and relatively far in advance. You should email me to schedule at least a month and a half in advance. Fridays & Saturdays tend to be the most popular time slots and book up the quickest. That said, DON'T WAIT to book! It's never too early to get on my schedule. Your photo reveal appointment will be approximately 2-3 weeks after your photo session, and your finished product (depending on what you order) will arrive between 4 and 6 weeks after that.
I am a plus size woman - should I loose some weight before my shoot?
No you are beautiful as you are right now. It DOES NOT matter what your size is when it comes to posing, lighting and photographing you in the most flattering way possible. With my unique posing system - accentuate your curves and best features or take off some extra pounds and disguise features you might not love, just with lighting and posing. Posing and lighting beats months at the gym HANDS DOWN!
What should I wear on my boudoir session?
When you book your boudoir experience with Boudoir Photography Melbourne, you will receive a preparation ebook and emails that will give you ideas on where to shop, what to look for and how to dress for your body type. You will also receive access to our studio wardrobe. Some clients have been known to send us email images of themselves while they are shopping to see if what they're looking at will photograph well. Preparing a Pinterest board with outfit ideas that you love is also a great idea. In your Boudoir Photography Melbourne experience, there are 3 outfit changes but you are more than welcome to bring more and we will help you to narrow it down. Some clients bring a suitcase full of stuff. You will be super-prepared by the time your session is here!
What do your packages include? How much should I expect to spend?
The photo shoot starts at $349. That includes the photo shoot, professional makeup application, the retouching of your images, the in-person viewing and design session.
At your photo reveal appointment, you will receive 5% off for any cash you bring.
Our packages are carefully crafted based on products most popular with our clients and their most frequent purchases as well as the high demand and limited availability.
Where will my Boudoir session take place?
Our sessions take place in our beautiful professional waterfront studio apartment located in the most liveable suburb of Melbourne, Patterson Lakes. Other locations for sessions are available upon request and additional fee. Hair & makeup is done on location.
Will my photos be on your website? Can my photos be private?
We LOVE to use the beautiful photographs from your session to show other women how they can do it too! HOWEVER, we take privacy very seriously at our studio. You images will NEVER be shared without your explicit permission and signed Model Release at the studio. We will honour whatever level of privacy you would like. Many clients are so proud of their photographs that they give us full discretion to choose. Some clients also prefer to choose. The choice is yours.
